Watering our Gardens This Morning

This morning we got outside early to enjoy a coffee, me an iced Morgyn a hot coffee. I read a bit in our star book about how you can find other stars and planets in the night sky by using Orion’s belt as a guiding point. You can also use the big dipper constellation to find Polaris which is how you find true north with your telescope. Yes we are learning about telescopes and the night sky. We recently bought a second hand telescope and have been using it and learning all about the different eye pieces you can look through and how it works. So far we’ve seen Saturn, the Moon, and a few other stars. It is really a neat experience to look into our atmosphere and see the world through our telescope! We watered our gardens this morning to and picked some Blackberries because we want to make a batch of Blackberry wine. Early in the morning is the best time to do watering and berry picking. It gets too hot out the rest of the day! Our plants are doing great, some of my flowers are done now and I am waiting for them to go to seed so I can save the seeds for seed exchanges and for next year in our gardens. Today I took off the tops of my spent Marigolds and am drying them on the drying racks that Morgyn made the other day. I am learning how to harvest my flowers, it is really interesting because each flower has a different way to seed itself. Gardening something I am always...

Garden Update

Our flowers and veggies are doing great despite the last few rainy days we had. Now the sunshine is back and it will soon be time to water them again! All of our Cosmos are blooming now and they look beautiful! The Amaranth has sure taken off also!
