July Update 2017

Morgyn and I spending time together! <3   Yellow and white 4’oclock and pink Clarkia!   Tao dog and I! Clarkia blooms       Gandolf checking out our Rhubarb!     Hi all! You are all probably wondering if we are alright due to the fires in the Cariboo. We are doing really well here, today the skies have cleared a lot since the fires started last Friday. Current direction of the fires are not headed this way and people in Cache Creek are most likely able to return to their homes in a few days. We are about a half an hour from Cache Creek. Even if we did have the fires this way, Morgyn has converted our little red truck into a fire truck! We will be just fine and have a place to go as well so no worries! Our little red truck is ready to put out fire if it comes to our town! Here is a photo of Gandolf checking out our Pumpkin bloom! Our garden has been thriving this last week! Today all of our Daturas bloomed this morning and our garden smells beautiful! We have a few purple Daturas this year as well as seeds I harvested a few years back from our last white Datura bunch have beautiful blooms on them now! White Datura blooms! Purple Datura or Angels Trumpet Clear skies this morning! First clear skies since the fires started last Friday..   Our first tomatoes are growing also, very exciting! First Wedding Anniversary

First Wedding Anniversary

June 25th 2016 Morgyn and I walked down the isle of her Mom’s apartment and we tied the knot! We have always wanted to make it official and we finally did! Marrying my wife was one if not the best decision I have made in my life. What a big year for us 2016 was! We bought our piece of land with our house on it in the Cariboo, got married and started our own life out here! We had a few days celebration this year to remind ourselves that getting married was and still is an important time in our lives! Knowing that I have the support of my wonderful wife througout my ups and downs, is a very comforting feeling! We have always had a special relationship, we are soulmates and I love Morgyn very much! Downing/Salt Lake Some treats we got at the local farmers market #Horstings Local bread! Downing/Salt Lake is a beautiful spot! It’s not too far from our place and has water you can dip your toes into! This was the first time in a long time I was barefoot at any body of water!   We spend a lot of time out in our garden..at #Horstings we bought a few Strawberry plants and Squash. We put them in our rows! First things we have permanently planted in the ground at our place 🙂 Morgyn spent a bit of time putting together a water irrigation system for our rows so we don’t have to water them with our hose! We brought over our Rhubarb from our old place in the Fraser Valley BC...
Spring has Sprung

Spring has Sprung

It’s official! Our hot days are here in the Cariboo of BC! This week we’ve had temps up to 33C yesterday! We’ve been spending a lot of time outside in our greenhouse and in the yard. Morgyn has been keeping up with mowing our lawn, and on just over a half an acre it can be quite the job! We have mosquitoes out here that are 3x the size as the ones in Vancouver on the Coast. It can be a pain to be working on a job outside and have to retreat inside because they swarm you..little ankle biters! I did over 79 tomato and flower transplants last week. It was quite the job but now they are all watered in in our greenhouse and Morgyn set up a hose for me to water them. She also set up a automatic watering system for our rows where our vegetables will go eventually. Today it is already too hot for me to be outside! Nicandras, around 11 or so ready to be transplanted! Daturas and Tomatoes It’s me in the #greenhouse! All the tomato transplants! So many! 79 of them to be exact. Daturas and Nicandras! Look how bushy this Nicandra is! This plant is really cool, it produces little purple bell type flowers, then goes to seed in what look like little lanterns. It is a nightshade and not edible. It’s me! Ready for #Gardening!   Here are the most recent transplants. There are a few tomatoes mixed up along side of them. More flowers! Tao Dog likes to keep me company when I’m in the greenhouse! First...
