Starting Gardening 2015

Starting Gardening 2015

Today we did yard work all day. I dead headed all of our flowers that over wintered and Morgyn tackled the blackberry over growth, honey suckle overgrowth, and other tidying in the yard. We are pleasantly surprised that all our herbs over wintered spectacularly! Also our foxgloves over wintered beautifully and hopefully we will get to experience the flowers on them this year! Our bee balm overwintered and it is a biennial which means it only starts blooms in the second year of growth so we will see if it blooms this year 🙂 I hope so! Our mints, and kitchen herbs have done wonderful over the winter and have shown new growth as has our agastache (liquorice mint).   We have had a wonderful time with seed exchanges this year from some of the gardening forums such as thehelpfulgardener.com and gardenweb we participate in! We have engaged in exchanges with such lovely ladies as well on backyardchickens.com. On Twitter some of our #gardening friends have also sent us some seeds! It has surely been a memorable time checking the mail over the last few weeks!  It was delightful to have such elaborate instructions on how to start all of the seeds as well. Now that it is getting warmer we will be getting ready to start some seedlings outside! Thanks to all who have sent us such fun and interesting seeds that will surely make our garden a sight to see this...
