Laundry Room Addition Pt-5: Building the Walls

Laundry Room Addition Pt-5: Building the Walls

Okay so my wifey has resumed work on our laundry room addition! Today she is framing the walls! We went to the local Home Hardware and picked up a bunch of lumber today! Skies are clear for the first time since the BC Wildfires started last Friday. It was pretty scary as both towns beside us were in evacuation because of the fires! We luckily didn’t have to evacuate and the fire didn’t actually reach us here. Roads and highways will probably be open again next week. Good thing because I want to see my Mother in law and our friends soon! Here we are! Ready for our next adventure! Views as we drove back from Kamloops Friday afternoon. This was a photo of Ashcroft coming westbound on the hwy towards Cache Creek Over the next few days on the weekend our skies in our yard at home were smokey but that was an understatement. There had been and still is an air quality alert on right now for the Cariboo BC. Today there are clear skies and Morgyn wanted to work on our laundry room addition walls today! All of our Daturas bloomed this morning! Look at my beautiful wife! She doesn’t just pose good with power tools she uses them like a pro! 🙂 Morgyn is getting the walls ready to fit a window in! Pretty exciting! Starting to look really awesome babe!! Nice work...

You are all probably wondering if we are alright due to the fires in the Cariboo. We are doing really well here, today the skies have cleared a lot since the fires started last Friday. Current direction of the fires are not headed this way and people in Cache Creek are most likely able to return to their homes in a few days. We are about a half an hour from Cache Creek. Even if we did have the fires this way, Morgyn has converted our little red truck into a fire truck! We will be just fine and have a place to go as well so no worries! Our little red truck is ready to put out fire if it comes to our town! Here is a photo of Gandolf checking out our Pumpkin bloom! Our garden has been thriving this last week! Today all of our Daturas bloomed this morning and our garden smells beautiful! We have a few purple Daturas this year as well as seeds I harvested a few years back from our last white Datura bunch have beautiful blooms on them now! White Datura blooms! Prime Rib Roast Dinner

Prime Rib Roast Dinner

We have been celebrating some special dates these last 2 months. In June we had our first wedding anniversary, my wife had her birthday, and then this month it was Canadas 150th birthday! We wanted to revisit our wedding dinner which was prime rib and lobster! Well we didn’t buy the lobster yet but enjoyed a big prime rib roast from our fav butcher #Rempelmeats on the Coast. Morgyn seared the roast on the BBQ just like her Dad did a long time ago at our last place in the Fraser Valley for her birthday. Prime rib always conjures up pleasant memories for us, so it was nice to have a continued celebration week along with my wife’s favorite red wine from Villa Theresa that I surprised her with. Cheers to health, happiness and many more great years ahead of us! Here is the rib roast! It was a pretty good size for the both of us and left overs for a few days!   In my opinion this was the best home made #potatosalad Morgyn has made yet! Darwin is never too far from the block of butter when we are using it! So cute, we always give him a taste of it and he loves sitting pretty for a bite! Here is our favorite store bought wine, Villa Teresa Merlot! So rich in flavour you gotta try it out!   We think the taste of the roast was amplified from the pre salting! Our first time in years using our BBQ! We usually use our DIY smoker, but we wanted that rustic BBQ flavour, and wow did...
